The Aer is our inflatable Irish pub rental. Aer is the Irish for air, which is very nearly the entire ingredients list: the inflatable pub arrives folded into the back of a van, and a few minutes later there is a pub standing on your lawn — walls, windows, pitched roof and a door worth walking through.
It takes twenty-five to thirty people comfortably, which is to say rather more than that once the music starts. Put it on grass, on a driveway, or in the middle of a field where nobody will find you. A síbín was never meant to be discovered twice in the same place anyway.
The fabric is fire-retardant, fully waterproof and UV-protective, rated from −30°C to 50°C. It will see off a New England forecast without complaint, and in all likelihood a few of the guests along with it.

Pour it yourself, or bring the Irish
Dry hire
You supply the alcohol and run the bar yourself. The Aer comes with everything to pour it properly, and the price is the rate above — nothing more.
Fully staffed
Bartenders from Ireland, one of them a Dubliner, TIPS-certified and insured, from $499 for a 4-hour event. You still supply the drink; they do everything else.

The Aer questions
How big is the inflatable pub?
Four metres square and four metres tall inside — a proper room, not a bouncy castle with a bar in it. It holds 25 to 30 people comfortably, more once the music starts and nobody is sitting down. It needs a level footprint about 5 m by 5 m once the guy lines are in.
What does an inflatable pub need to run?
A single blower on an ordinary power outlet, running continuously — if the blower stops, the pub deflates. A generator works where there is no mains power and is one of the add-ons we can quote. Grass, a driveway or a car park all suit it; sand and steep slopes do not.
Is an inflatable pub any good in bad weather?
Better than you would think. The fabric is fire-retardant, fully waterproof and UV-protective, rated from −30°C to 50°C, so rain is no reason to go home. It is a tent in the end, so for a cold evening we suggest a patio heater at the door and a full house inside.
What does inflatable Irish pub rental cost?
$500 for 24 hours, any day of the week, delivery in the Plymouth area included. The folding bar table, seating and jockey box are add-ons, and Irish bartenders can be added too. Everything is quoted with the booking.
The Aer or The Síbín — which should I pick?
The Aer for the bigger, looser crowd and the lower price; The Síbín for the snug, the stove, the TV and the real Irish history on the walls. Plenty of people take both — the pub for the session, the inflatable for the overflow.
