Wedding Bar Trailer Rental on the South Shore: A Real Irish Pub for Your Day

A towed Victorian pub with a snug, or an inflatable pub for thirty — yours for 24 hours.

The pub comes to the wedding

A wedding bar trailer rental on the South Shore from The Síbín means a real Irish pub is towed to your wedding, set up as the bar, and stays for 24 hours. You supply the drink, or add our bartenders from Ireland and let them pour it. It works at a backyard wedding, beside a tent, in a barn yard or in the car park of a venue that has no bar of its own.

We are based in Plymouth, so the South Shore is home ground, with Cape Cod, Greater Boston and the rest of New England a tow away. There are two pubs: a Victorian Irish pub with a snug and a hundred years of Irish history on the walls, and an inflatable pub that holds thirty and goes up in minutes.

Which Irish wedding bar?

01

The Síbín

The Irish wedding bar with a story. Seats 16 inside in the snug and at the bar, with a working bar of two draft lines, keg setup and beer gas, bottle and wine coolers and a sink. A stove heater and AC, a smart TV for the photographs, and genuine Irish history on the walls — Dáil Éireann bonds, a Daniel O’Connell signature and a 1916 Irish Volunteer newspaper. $997 midweek, $1,200 at the weekend, for 24 hours.

The Aer

The inflatable Irish pub for the bigger crowd: holds 25–30 inside a four-metre square room with a pitched roof and a pub sign over the door. Fire-retardant, waterproof fabric, a speaker system, and a bar table, seating and a jockey box as add-ons. $500 for 24 hours, any day of the week.

Ceremony & reception

For the reception, the pub is the bar — open from the moment the ceremony ends, pouring while the photographs are taken, and still going when the speeches run long. Guests queue at an actual bar instead of a trestle table with a cloth on it, and the ones who want a quiet word slip into the snug.

Set it beside the ceremony and it is the first thing people walk to, pint in hand, while you are off being photographed. Add glassware, a champagne wall, “photo finish” cocktails or an Irish whiskey tasting from the add-ons list and the bar carries a good share of the entertainment too.

Later on

The after-party

The idea

Of all the wedding after party ideas we have heard, the simplest is the best: open the door of an Irish pub at the end of the night and let the people who do not want to go home not go home. The rental is 24 hours, so the pub that served the reception is still there at one in the morning.

The music

The Síbín has a smart TV and a sound system; The Aer has a speaker system. Your playlist, your volume, no DJ to pay for the extra hour. The snug is where the singing starts.

The morning after

We collect the pub when the 24 hours are up, so nobody from the wedding party has to break anything down at two in the morning. The glasses go back in the crate and the crate goes with us.

Rehearsal dinner

A rehearsal dinner is sixteen-odd people who matter most to you, which is exactly the number The Síbín seats. Put the two families in a snug together the night before and they have met properly before the wedding, with a pint in front of them and a Daniel O’Connell signature to argue about.

A Thursday rehearsal dinner falls on The Síbín’s midweek rate of $997. For the groomsmen the night before, or as the second half of the rehearsal dinner, a private whiskey tasting in the snug — 45 minutes, an Irish bartender and the story of Irish whiskey — makes a bachelor party out of a pub without anyone leaving the garden. If you want the pub for the rehearsal dinner and the wedding itself, give us both dates and we will quote it as one longer booking rather than two.

Backyard & tented weddings

What the site needs

A backyard wedding bar or a tented wedding bar needs three things from the site: level ground, vehicle access for delivery and collection, and a reliable power supply within reach. Everything else — the heating, the cooling, the taps and the gas — the pub brings with it.

  • Level ground. The Síbín needs roughly the footprint of a parking space; The Aer needs a flat four-metre square.
  • Vehicle access. The Síbín is towed in and towed out, and The Aer arrives in the back of a van.
  • Power within reach. The Aer runs off a single blower that must stay on for the whole event. If the field has no outlet, a generator is on the add-ons list.
  • Headroom for The Aer. It stands four metres (about thirteen feet) tall, so it sits beside a tent rather than inside one.
  • Weather. The Síbín has a stove heater and AC; The Aer’s fabric is waterproof and rated from −30°C to 50°C. A New England forecast is not a reason to move indoors.
  • Outdoor seating, a water station and glassware can all be added to the booking, so the lawn becomes the beer garden.

Plymouth is home, so the South Shore gets the shortest tow and delivery inside the Plymouth area is included. Further afield, we quote the delivery fee up front — there are no surprises on the invoice.

Irish wedding ideas

A few traditions worth stealing

An Irish wedding bar is a start, but Ireland has a whole shelf of wedding customs that travel well: handfasting, which is where “tying the knot” comes from; a Claddagh ring turned the right way round; a horseshoe carried for luck; a little bell to ring when an argument needs ending; and a Child of Prague statue left out in the garden the night before to keep the rain off.

We have written them up properly, with what each one means and how couples here are using them — read Irish wedding traditions.

FAQ

Wedding questions

What does a wedding bar trailer rental cost on the South Shore?

The Síbín is $997 for 24 hours Monday to Thursday and $1,200 Friday to Sunday. The Aer is $500 for 24 hours, any day. Bartenders from Ireland start at $499 for a 4-hour event, with extra hours up to 8. Delivery inside the Plymouth area is included; beyond it we quote the fee up front. The full breakdown is on our pricing page.

Do you supply the alcohol for the wedding?

No — we never sell alcohol. You buy the kegs, wine and spirits yourselves, which is usually a good deal cheaper than a venue bar package, and we supply everything to pour them properly: two draft lines with keg setup and beer gas, bottle and wine coolers, a sink, and glassware as an add-on. Add our Irish bartenders and you need never go near the taps yourselves.

Do we need a licence to have the pub at a backyard wedding?

For a private wedding where you supply the drink and nobody pays for it, most couples run it the way they would any party at home. Rules vary by town — check with your local licensing board. Our plain-English guide lists the questions to ask. If a venue is involved, the venue will usually tell you what they need.

How much space does the pub need at a tented wedding?

The Síbín is a towed trailer and needs roughly a parking space of level ground, plus room for the truck to deliver and collect it. The Aer is four metres square and four metres tall, so it needs a flat four-by-four-metre spot and a power outlet within reach, because its blower runs continuously. Either pub can sit beside the tent so guests drift between the two. Send us a photo of the spot and we will tell you straight away whether it works.

Can the pub do the reception and the after-party?

Yes. The rental is 24 hours, so the pub can arrive the morning of the wedding, serve through the reception and still be pouring for the after-party long after the band has packed up. If you want it in place the evening before — for the rehearsal dinner, say — tell us the dates and we will quote it as a longer booking.

How far ahead should we book a wedding bar?

As soon as you have the date. We have two pubs, and Saturdays in the wedding season are the first to go. A Friday or Sunday wedding has a much better chance of getting The Síbín, and a midweek wedding gets it at the lower rate. Send us the date and we will confirm availability within a day.
