Think of The Síbín as a tiny event space on wheels. It works much like booking any venue for a party or get-together, only this time the venue rolls up to your door, and there’s nobody telling you it’s last orders at closing time!

We don’t supply any food or drink ourselves. State liquor laws mean the alcohol has to be bought by you, whether that’s the host, the venue, or your caterer. The pub turns up fully kitted out, with taps that pour two draft beers at a time and refrigeration for your kegs or any bottles and cans. Treat it like a house party: you sort out the drink, and when we drop off and set up the pub we’ll hook up your keg(s) and make sure it’s all pouring properly. The beer gas for your kegs is on us, free of charge. Honestly, this is the cheapest way to throw a party, with no steep open-bar premiums or marked-up alcohol, because you’re free to buy everything from wherever it’s cheapest.

We’re also in with local drink suppliers who can deliver the lot straight to you on the day of your event, so there’s as little hassle for you as possible. And if you’re stuck on what to get or how much, just ask, because we’re glad to talk you through it and make sure every one of your guests is looked after!

We do! On top of the bar itself, we can send along bartenders so you don’t have to pull the pints yourself. Every one of our bartenders is TIPS certified and fully insured. You don’t need a license to serve drink in the pub, as long as you’re not charging your guests for it. Just think of The Síbín as an extension of your own home or venue.

If your wedding or event is at a private venue, they might tell you that anyone bringing alcohol needs a 12C caterer’s license. Here’s the thing: a 12C is only required to sell alcohol at an event, not to serve it. Since you’re supplying the drink yourself for an open bar and not selling a thing to your guests, no license is needed. What we do need in order to serve your guests is general liability and liquor liability insurance, which we carry, and bartenders who are TIPS certified, which ours are. We’re more than happy to ring your venue directly and walk them through how it all works.

Sorry, but no, our bartenders only come along with the pub, so they can’t be booked on their own without our mobile bar.

Inside, the pub seats up to 14 and has standing room for up to 25. Every booking also comes with our Outdoor Beer Garden, which rounds out the Irish pub feel and gives you and your guests even more room to spread out. We do! Our wee pub is fully heated, and we can’t think of a better spot to be on a cold New England night than tucked into a warm, snug Irish pub, a pint of Guinness or a hot whiskey in hand, the fire going, a good tune playing and friends all around. Summer keeps us busy, no doubt, but if anything we reckon the pub suits the colder months even better. So don’t let a January birthday get you down, we’re here whenever you need us!

We do! The pub has AC for the summer and a heater for the winter. Because it’s so small and well insulated, it warms up or cools down fast and holds whatever temperature you want, which makes it well able for the wild swings of the New England climate.

Small as the pub is, there are still a few things we need to set it up safely for you and your guests. We need a level, hard surface (concrete, asphalt, gravel, pavers and the like) with enough room for the pub itself, plus space around it for guests to come and go comfortably. The smallest spot we can work with is an easily reached area of 22 feet by 14 feet. We’ll go over your delivery address with you when you book, to make sure there’s a suitable place for it. It’s worth flicking through our event gallery too, to see some of the spots we’ve set up in before.

The whole pub has to sit on privately owned property. It can’t be parked on the street or anywhere else public.

The pub holds up to two half-barrel (full-sized) kegs at once, which works out to roughly 250 pints of beer. If a full keg feels like too much, we can also take quarter kegs (62 pints) or sixth kegs (41 pints). There are two beer lines inside, so you can have two different drafts on at the same time. You’re welcome to run fewer kegs and use the rest of the cold space for cans and bottles, though we’d really push for kegs over bottles or cans, since fridge space is tight in the pub and kegs make far better use of it.

If you’ve got extra cold storage at your place for spare kegs (big trash barrels packed with ice do the job nicely), you can go through as many as you like. In the colder months you can even leave extra kegs outside to swap in once the empties run dry. Temperature is the big one with kegs: they need a full 24 hours to chill properly, and they’ll have to be cold already by the time we connect them in the pub, to avoid any bother. We’ll stay in close touch with you in the run-up to make sure that’s never an issue!

When you order your kegs, the supplier might tell you that you need taps or special connectors, Guinness especially. Don’t worry about any of that, because we bring everything your kegs need apart from the kegs themselves. All the gas, taps and connections for whatever beer you’ve picked come from us, so you’re covered. Just have the keg(s) ready and we’ll handle the rest.

We don’t provide glassware. What we’d suggest is clear 16 oz. cups for beer and mixed drinks, around 3 to 5 per guest, and 9 oz. tumblers for wine and cocktails, around 2 to 3 per guest.

If you’re planning on mixed drinks or liquor on the rocks, you’ll need to bring your own ice. There’s an ice bucket and scoop behind the bar that holds about 15 lbs at a time, but the pub has no freezer for bigger amounts, so keep some cold storage on site for the spare bags (a large cooler is perfect). You might also want straws for the mixed drinks, plus lemon and lime slices for garnish. On our end, we’ll have cleaning supplies for the bar (all-purpose cleaner, paper towels and so on) along with beer coasters and napkins for your guests.

Every booking is a one day/night rental. We’ll settle on a delivery time that suits you on the day of your event, usually late morning or early afternoon, or at the very least two hours before things kick off. If it’s a surprise party and you need a particular delivery window, we can sort that too, as we’ve done plenty of times before! We’ll normally come back to collect the pub around 7 a.m. the next morning, though we can take it away the same day after your event if needs be. One thing to note: if your event is on commercial property with public access (a business car park, a college campus and so on) the pub has to be collected the same day and can’t be left overnight.

No, we don’t do half-day bookings. Between the delivery, setup and breakdown (and guests who never want to leave the pub!) there’s no way for us to fit a few shorter bookings into one day. So the rate is the same per day no matter how many hours you plan to spend in the pub.

Once the pub is parked in its final spot, it’s usually set up within 90 minutes.

We do! There are commercial-grade speakers in the pub that connect to any device over Bluetooth or a USB cable. We’ve also put together a few Spotify playlists to set the scene: a proper Irish pub playlist, a livelier one for when the sun goes down, and an Irish Christmas playlist for the festive get-togethers!

Yes, the pub needs power for the fridges, lights, sound system and the rest. Ideally that comes from a main source like a house, shed or office. All we’re after is one ordinary 20-amp outlet within 100 feet of the pub for our extension cord, which we bring ourselves. If there’s no power to be had where you are, we can rent you a generator for an added fee.

They are! Our Outdoor Beer Garden, whiskey-barrel tables and all, comes with every booking on top of the pub itself, giving you and your guests more room and a properly immersive pub experience. Have a look at our services page for more.

We do! There’s a 42″ Full HD Smart TV in the pub, so you can catch the big game, run a slideshow or binge the latest Netflix series. Your pub, your rules! To use the smart features it’ll need Wi-Fi on site, or you can plug straight in with an HDMI cable to an external device. It also takes Chromecast and Apple AirPlay if you’d rather stream or share from your phone.
